Hey guys. Yeah, it’s been a while since we posted a blog. We have been busy with every day life. Well, now that is an excuse. We really need to focus more on this show. And our walks. We apologize for the lack of updates. We’re going to get more serious about things this winter. We are going to have more blogs, more videos, and more special guests. We are also going to bring prayer back to the show. My wife reminded me that we used to pray on every show. We haven’t done that lately. What kind of a Christian show doesn’t include prayer? Shame on us. We repent and we will be doing it. We want to be a great example and an influence for other believers and seekers. Let us heed the conviction and do what is right. Anyways, this video that I am uploading is part of a new series that I am doing called “We Still Believe: On the Road Podcast Edition”. I will be doing a couple of these a week. They are part serious and part humor. Hopefully, you are one of the few people on this planet that get my sense of humor. God Bless! -Jay
That’s right. The Commercialization of individuals. This is become a disturbing trend among many arenas, especially in corporations, organizations, and even within the church.
I’m starting to notice it more and more. Usually, you hear it with a CEO or some other Public Relations representative or spokespersons for some company. But now it appears that any ambassador to any company is being converted into mini-PR reps, as I call it. Little human incarnations of the brand name. Your now supposed to sound super polished, commercialized and politically correct when representing any company or organization, or as I said—even your church. It seems like they are pushing this agenda across the board. They want everything to be professional and formal….but it appears it pushes it to such extremes where to the average person, it appears disingenuous and fake. Is it just me or does it make you sick to your stomach to see some commercial that so professionally produced that it seems like you are watching a brainwashed humanoid?
It’s been bothering me a lot lately…especially at my employer, new policies are arriving with the best ways to convey a message to a customer. It appears the more negative the affect is on the customer, the more spin they put on the message. Policies are being presented in such a way that you can’t really question it, because usually they are introduced in group settings. And if you, like me, are one of the few who will question it, the response usually is, “I understand your concern, but…” and they go into the corporate spiel. No one ACTUALLY truly feels for you. They are told to empathize, but not to sympathize. Yet, once they are done with their fake response, they revert back to towing the company line… as if reading from a script, EVEN THOUGH they are spouting it out from their mouths by memory. And it’s not their fault, their superiors are enforcing this culture of so-called leadership that they simply cannot question. They just can’t….otherwise their leadership will be put into question and they may find themselves promoted to customer the next day.
This is all to be expected, coming from a secular workplace. However, what’s really starting to disturb me is that church organizations and denominations are starting to do that. Everything is just so over-commercialized. The last 2 Marriage Conferences I went to made me sick. Sorry, I’m going to come out in say it. What they’re trying to do is great…save marriages and strengthen marriages. I got it. However, it’s just so glossed over and polished that it almost sounds like I’m going through workplace training instead of a genuine Christian retreat. They have their professional booklets and sidebars with “NOTES” and these perfectly scripted agendas that are very far from an intimate place. Even worse, they are always trying to sell some book or CD or have other value-adds.
When are we going to be just human beings? Why does everything genuine have to be exploited by a business…especially the one thing that should BE REAL. Being a Christian and teaching others the way to be Christ-followers. I’m just tired of everything in this life being commercialized. I am desperate for REAL PEOPLE who aren’t trying to sell me something. Whenever I go to a Christian event such as that, I always feel the most alive when I’m talking to other Christians about REAL LIFE SUBJECTS, STRUGGLES, TRIUMPHS and anything regarding God. We don’t sugarcoat it, and we don’t have policies to adhere to within our discourse, and we certianly aren’t trying to offer some product or service.
Yes, we have a Christian radio show. But as our motto is—we are real, raw, uncut and in your face…and we tell it like it is. We want to be real with folks and we have no agenda except that we want to tell people the truth in love. We may sell something to cover our expenses, as this is a non-profit business, but we’re not going to have booklets and brochures and annoying politically correct responses to your deep questions of the faith. So please, break out of the mold and be yourself. It’s about time we see more REAL folks take over the fake ones.
Thanks for listening to my rant,
Lately my reflections about life and prosperity have been damp only due to my own challenges and outlook, yet this does not exclude or decline away from what God is certainly capable of, and has done in the past.
Many folks lately have been asking myself and Jay about proof or evidence of God, through various forms and questions, one point I brought up was my own experience in the area of financial prosperity and sustainability. Though personal experiences may not, “prove” God to another individual directly, at the very least they provide a testimony to the power of God’s grace and ability to sustain a person even in the midst of the most dire circumstances.
For a brief period in my life from the fall of 2009 until the summer of 2010 I experienced such dire circumstances and financial despair. My hours were cut due to the company I worked for shutting down various locations and moving me with other employees into one location before going out of business. The problem was too many employees, not enough work and not enough hours, but no one was being fired or let go either. The challenge was not being provided enough hours weekly to really meet my financial obligations each month.
To provide an example, I will give some numbers although not exact or accurate, it serves the purpose to explain the scenario I faced. For example my financial obligations were around 1,000.oo a month, yet I was making around 800 or less, depending on how much money I made each week, and the amount of hours I would receive.. some weeks I got around 24 hours, some weeks I got around 34 or 36 depending. Now I was making 8.50 an hour, this is exact by the way, nevermind my tithing responsibilities or proper attitude being first place.
To explain tithing, tithing is essentially the responsibility of every christian to provide back to God 10% of their income, gross or net income per paycheck, now mind you I believe it should be the gross amount, but some people do it off net and then tithe again with 10% on their tax return, I do not because I tithe off my gross pay regardless. So if you can imagine having financial responsibilities more than what you make after taxes and then tithing from each paycheck, one would say they don’t have enough money, or why even tithe then?
This would be true, aside from the fact that God does certainly provide and bless those who obey Him, “2 Corinthians:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. 10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) 11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.” which explains the process of sowing a seed and reaping a harvest.
When you sow a financial seed into the Kingdom of God you provide God the opportunity to bless and provide you sustainability, provisions, support, and above all else your needs are met. By this action and being faithful to always provide God my tithe, (usually before I even deposited my check into my bank account) then I was provided enough financial resources to met and exceede my monthly bill payments and have enough left over to sustain a balance in my bank account and not go broke. This was maintained the entire time and I even noticed a steady but small fluctuation between the balance in my bank account up and down. Granted I didn’t see substantial increases above and beyond my position, yet what God did was provide more than enough for me to survive and function, due to my tithe.
Without my tithe, I guarantee that my ability to pay my bills and meet my obligations would have been challenged far worse than it was, and I would have fallen short to provide for my obligations. God will indeed bless you if you bless Him by obedience, not because you should do it, but because you are a cheerful giver and desire to tithe and do so to be a blessing for the Kingdom of God, first things first, provide for the Kingdom and God will provide for you.
Eventually I moved on to a better company, better pay and better benefits and hours, which God paved the way for through my faithfulness to Him anyways. Sometimes things take a season to come to pass and manifestation as well, amen.
It seems as if evolution has completely infiltrated all of science. The bias towards evolution is extremely obvious. Simply juxtaposing two wikipedia articles side by side—intelligent design and evolution—clearly shows this bias. It’s talked about today like it’s a proven fact and that anything that hints at the thought of intelligent design is completely false and “already debunked”. Films such as “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” goes to show that even the discussion of intelligent design isn’t worthy of being taught in schools and universities across the country, and that it’s not even up for debate. “It’s already been decided,” evolutionists say, “Our arms are crossed and the books are published. You can’t undo decades of research.”
What’s sad is that they are in denial at the very least and delusional at the very worst. Evolutionary thought is a retardation for real science. Yet, because religion has caused a lot of people to stumble and become disillusioned with God, they won’t give creation or intelligent design a second thought because the implications that believing it would have on them.
Darwin came up with his theories over 100 years ago. People forget that we’ve come along way in the past 20 years, nevermind 100 years. If Darwin knew how complex the human cell was, he may have thought twice about some of his findings and surely he would have doubts.
Today, evolutionists cannot come up with a single test that proves it exists. As the last step of the scientific method, a test is required to prove that the theory is sound. Yet one cannot test something that takes “millions” of years to observe. Their own scientific method works against them. Some use examples such as the lenski experiments to prove that we can see small amounts of evolution by cross breeding wolves and getting dogs. This example is horrible because wolves and dogs are both in the species of canidae. No “new” species was created. It was simply a different breed, which we see all the time. We have hundreds of breeds of dogs, but we all look at them and know they are dogs.
Another example used is mutations. However, evolutionists should already know that no mutation has ever been to the benefit of any creature. It’s most all the time to it’s detriment, and it’s not carried along to it’s offspring.
Yet another example is the psuedoscience of vestiges. We were taught that certian parts, such as the appendix, has no use. The more we learn about science, the more we learn how very wrong we were about our understanding of how things work, and how utterly complicated things are. We have now grown to understand that the appendix has a very important use. According to wikipedia: “New studies propose that the appendix may harbor and protect bacteria that are beneficial in the function of the human colon.”
We have amazing technology such as the electron microscope which can show us close up images of countless tiny little machines within the human cell that work together, and cannot work together without each other.
Yet the foolishness is more prevalent than ever. Evolutionists are pulling out all the stops and publishing documents that are “peer reviewed”, which is somehow more solid proof that evolution is true. Within the constructs of the paradigm of their choosing—you must play by their rules. They are blind because they are keeping a thoery alive based on centuries old evidence. The evidence has changed with each passing year of further findings yet because they view everything assuming that evolution is true—INSTEAD what they should be doing is compiling the evidence and looking at it and asking the right questions. But they will never get the answers to the questions they refuse to ask.
And that question is: Who PUT the rules in places for the universe to operate within. Even if everything began at the big bang and evolution is 100% accurate, they will never be able to explain away the order of which things are placed. Why does 1+1=2? Why does the law of thermodynamics exist? Who created the concept of logic, or right and wrong? If we evolved from apes, why do they still exist today? Who created metaphysical concepts such as pain and pleasure? Who wrote the DNA code? Because they assume it all came from nothing, the questions are never asked.
And so no matter how much evidence—such as irreducible complexity and fine-tuned universe—that they are presented with, the veil will remain over their eyes until they can think outside the box.
If one is to believe that the law of conservation of matter is true—this means that matter must have always existed in one form or another. Yet, contradicting themselves, they believe that before there was the universe as we know it today, there was a singularity that exploded and that’s what created all of the cosmic elements. According to wikipedia, it’s called a model or theory, and you can even see there where a subtle attempt is made to use other words than “model” to explain it. Now phrases like “dense” and “hot state” are used, but they don’t tell you what consisted of this hot state. What gravity caused everything to be together? What created the elements such as hydrogen and oxygen? What caused galaxies to be set up in perfect order with planets circling them perfectly, when all the matter from the big bang was supposedly pushing in all different directions? Everything about the big bang defies all scientific logic. Even young kids in class in school who could think for themselves could understand these questions. Yet when they are asked, all that the persons asking the questions get for answers are ad hominmen—personal attacks against how OUR logic is wrong for even asking the question in the first place.
Something is clearly wrong.
So, back to the law of conservation of matter. Explain this to me. If matter cannot be created or destroyed, you’ve got a major problem. Because based on the 2nd law of thermodynamics, everything in the universe is going towards decay….rendering evolution false immediately. But even more scary is that since matter cannot be created, how can this law be broken for the creation of matter IN IT’S FIRST EXISTING STATE? Of course the hypocrisy is astounding. It would have been easier for matter to have not existed in the first place than for it to have existed, because it takes more energy for it to exist than for it not to exist. By all rights, there should BE nothing.
So it takes as much faith to believe in the big bang theory…if not more…than to believe in God…who is EVERYTHING and CREATED everything in it’s perfect working order…who ALWAYS existed, and HAD to have (therefore obeying the law of conservation of matter)…and the proof of his creation is seen in the complexity of the cell, atoms, DNA, and bacteria.
Our God is simply amazing.
